Lauren Kettner is thrilled to join the Knotty Yoga community. She has been dancing for over 20 years. Her early training began at Mercerart Dance in Ballet, Tap, and Jazz and at Cornish College of the Arts Preparatory Dance Program. Lauren’s beginnings in aerial and acrobatic movement were entirely by accident, with a good handstand at an audition. Lauren then went on to spend a year working with AMBEA Aerial and Acrobatic Dance (now Aerial Dance Chicago), learning trapeze and acrobatic dance. She has also studied with Sam Alvarez (Cirque du Soliel, Cavalia), Circus School of Arizona, Marshall Garfield, and at SANCA. Lauren graduated summa cum laude from ASU with a B.F.A. in Dance Performance and also holds a B.S. from UW in Mathematics and Economics. Lauren strives to combine her passions for movement, art, structure, and entrainment in all her performances. Her choreography on the floor and in the air uses her strong ballet and modern training with her love of the fantastic. She has danced with Dance Arizona Repertory Theatre, ARC Dance, and The Cabiri. From 2010 to 2014 Lauren was the Dance Captain and a principle performer for The Cabiri. Currently she is on staff at SANCA and enjoys drumming for Elliott Bay Pipe Band and hanging with her ridiculously cute pug mix in her free time.
